Come to a Focus Friday before you buy anything.
Focus Fridays is a free weekly drop-in for bookkeepers and firm owners working out what AI actually changes about the job. Bring a real question, or just listen. No card, no signup fee, and no obligation to buy anything afterwards.
- Free, 45 minutes, every Friday
- Drop in when you can
- Owners and staff both welcome
- Taught by Dawn, not a sales rep
Four ways to learn this, none of them a video course.
Every program runs live on Google Meet, in cohorts of ten or fewer, and every session is taught by Dawn Hatch herself. Sessions run 90 to 120 minutes with work to do in between, because an hour of watching teaches less than ten minutes of doing.
AI Essentials for Bookkeepers
You leave able to say which tools are safe for client data, and why.
A structured live series covering the core AI concepts every bookkeeper needs, whether you own the firm or work in one. No fluff, no hype, just what you can apply on Monday.
- Understand AI and machine learning basics
- Evaluate AI bookkeeping software
- Protect client data and client trust
- Hands-on demos in Xero and QuickBooks Online
Automate Your Practice Workshop
You leave with one automation running on your own work, not a plan to build one.
A hands-on session where you build real automations for your own firm. Walk in with manual processes, walk out with working AI-powered workflows.
- Set up bank reconciliation automation
- Build client document collection flows
- Train automated transaction categorisation
- No-code builds in n8n, Make and Zapier
Build Your AI Framework: Organization and Governance
You leave with a written AI policy your firm can actually follow, not a document nobody reads.
The governance work, done properly and done first. You decide what client data never leaves your systems, set the controls that enforce it, and write the approval path so staff stop deciding alone at five o'clock on a deadline. Most firms skip this and spend the next year hoping nobody asks.
- A written rule for what client data never leaves your systems
- Retention and model-training controls set across your tools
- An approval path, so nobody decides alone on a deadline
- Documentation that holds up if a client or an auditor asks
Focus Fridays Community
You stop being the only person who has to decide.
A weekly drop-in for bookkeeping firm owners. Bring your questions, share what's working, and learn from peers making the same transition.
- Weekly live Q&A sessions
- Peer learning and accountability
- Guest experts and tool demos
- Private community access
Programs start at $750 and are scoped to your firm's size and complexity, so the final figure depends on what you actually need. Focus Fridays is free. Ask on a discovery call and you will get a number, not a brochure.
Whichever one you pick, the shape is the same.
Four steps, in this order. The order is the part most training gets backwards.
Set the rules first
Before anyone touches a client file: what goes into a model, what never does, and how you document it. It starts with a questionnaire built for your practice.
GovernLearn the fundamentals
Which AI tools solve real problems, how to evaluate them, and what to watch for. In bookkeeping terms, not computer science ones.
LearnBuild and implement
Set up your first workflows with guidance, on your own files rather than on a demo account.
BuildDocument and organize
Write down what you built so it survives you being on holiday. A workflow only one person understands is not capacity.
DocumentTypically about a week per step, depending on how much time you put into it. The sequence is the same whether you are a solo bookkeeper or a ten-person firm.
The questions that actually decide it.
How much does a program cost?
Programs start at $750 and are scoped to your firm's size and complexity, so the final figure depends on what you actually need. The Focus Fridays community is free. Ask on a discovery call and you will get a number rather than a brochure.
Do I need a technical background?
No. Every program is designed for bookkeeping professionals with no technical or AI background. We start with the basics and build from there. If you can use Xero or QuickBooks, you can learn AI with us.
I am a solo bookkeeper. Is this worth it for one person?
Yes, and arguably more so. A solo practice has no one else to absorb the admin, so every hour AI takes off your plate is an hour you get back rather than an hour reassigned. The programs are scoped to firm size, so a solo practice is not paying for a ten-person build.
I work for a firm rather than owning one. Can I still take this?
Yes. AI Essentials in particular is built for both: understanding what AI can and cannot do, evaluating tools, protecting client data, and hands-on work in Xero and QuickBooks Online are the same four things whether your name is on the door or not.
How are sessions delivered, and are they recorded?
Live on Google Meet, in cohorts of ten or fewer. Sessions run 90 to 120 minutes depending on the program, with work to do in between. Sessions can be recorded, and the recording goes to everyone who attends. Nothing is pre-recorded and nothing is delivered in person.
When does the next one start?
Cohorts are formed rather than scheduled, so there is no fixed calendar to sign up against. Ask and you will get the current timing. Focus Fridays runs weekly and you can join any week.
Which AI tools do you teach?
Xero's own AI features, OpenAI's tools including ChatGPT and Codex, Anthropic's Claude including Claude Cowork and Claude Code, n8n for automation, and Gemini. Tools change; the judgment about when to trust one does not, and that is the part the programs are built around.
